Today, Miss Young has retired from teaching after spending almost 34 years here at St Matthew's.
We have calculated that in that time she has interacted with at least 2000 children and their families which is an incredible number of people. She has been inundated with messages of thanks from the children, their families, staff (past & present) and also representatives of the many agencies she has worked with over her career.
Her reputation goes before her as a person of great integrity, absolutely child focused and a calm and steady influence, never phased by any situation.
Needless to say we are all going to miss her terribly but we know she will keep in touch and she has already promised that she will help out as a volunteer on some school trips in the future and will pop back to see us all.
For now, we simply say "thank you" and we wish you a long, happy and healthy retirement Miss Young.
